Chennai is also known as Madras is the capital of Tamil Nadu. It is the country's fourth largest city. In comparison the other major metropolitan cities of India, Chennai is less congested and polluted. Chennai was the first settlement site of the British East India Company. It was founded in 1639, on a small area of land given by the Raja of Chandragiri, the last of the Vijayanagar rulers of Hampi.

On an organisational level, Chennai has a reasonably efficient public services, public buses(MTC), and the Local Electric trains(EMU) run smoothly. Industrial expansion has taken place at a rapid pace in Chennai recently, with the booming of engineering plants, automobile industries, educational institutions, and textile manufacturing units. Chennai is a jubliant city that manages a beautiful balance between the modern and the traditional, a metropolitan city with a distinct old and new- world charm.

How to Get There?

Chennai is well connected with almost all the places in India and also with many parts of the world
Air: Kamaraj National and Anna International Airports are situated at Meenambakkam & Tirusulam respectively about 20 kms from the city.
Railways: Chennai is connected by railways with all the major towns and cities in India. The main railheads are Chennai Central and Egmore.
Roadways: Chennai is connected by a good network of roads with all important places in Tamil Nadu and other parts of India.
