OBAMA IS A MESSIAH FOR CHENNAI FAMILY

The newly elected US president Barack Obama may have won the hearts of many people during his Presidential race, but for a Chennai family, he is a messiah. 5 Years ago, when Sujatha Adsumilli, a Widow who wanted to fly to the US in 2004 for her son Vijay Kumar's House Warming ceremony, she was denied a Visa as the authorities feared that she might turn out to be a "potential immigrant".

Mr.Vijay then wrote to the Illinois senator Barack Obama telling him of the problem, who wrote to the state department and consulate in Chennai asking them to consider the matter under the department of state guidelines. This action made the officials to grant her a 10 year multiple entry visa to the US. Sujatha also tried to thank Obama personally but in vain. She rues missing the opportunity to meet him "as he had just left his office." "But the staff at his office extended great hospitality and promised me that they would convey my greetings to him," Sujatha said

MY HCL COLLEAGUE- SIDDARTH

The Smiling Assasin and that suits him better. If you really want to know how to mingle with people at an instant, he is the right person to be approached. I really wonder how he is able to make friends in such a short time span. One remarkable attitude of this guy is his affinity towards social service. When I heard from his friends about his active participation in the relief work during post-Tsunami period at Velankanni, I was very much moved by that. I Wish this Guy become an I.A.S one day so that he can be one of the important architects in the betterment of the lives of poor and down trodden people in our country.

MY HCL COLLEAGUE- VIJAY

On 30 July-2008, although I am familiar with my own college friends who are about to join in HCL along with me and some Velammal friends who attended the Japanese training program in P.M towers, I had no idea about the people who attended the same Japanese training in Vadapalani( Vadapalani batch). To be precise, my future colleagues then. Here goes my Pen-Picture about some of my very best friends in the Vadapalani batch.

My first take is on 'Vijay Rajendiran'. In my view, he is the 'Epitome of Friendship'. On Day-1 of Our Induction Program, I met this guy during Tea-Break and the first Introduction was just a formal one. The actual Bond between us was nurtured in our Technical Training at Coalesce training centre and the situation in which our friendship bloomed is simply unremarkable. It all started on the Day-6 of our 54-Days Technical Training when myself, Vijay and Yuvraj got stressed out after a rigorous 1st week. We felt like being docked up in a frying span.

To share a lighter moment, myself and Vijay decided that immaterial of the situation, we two would be the effective "Bench Keepers" in HCL after completing our trainning. Touch Wood!! At what an Angel's Time we took the decision, the words have become a reality now.

From that time onwards, I used to call him "BENCH" and Vice-versa. At posting, Vijay and myself were allocated in the same project and we share the same work place. We share many things in common especially 'Japanese Nightmare'. Even God cannot make us to Understand that language. Lolz..

I admire this guy in many ways. He is one of the Kind-Hearted personalities I have ever come across. On January 1- 2009 when most of us were partying, this guy contributed Rs.2000+ a Beareu for an Orphanage. God!! I had no words to express about this one. How many of us ever thought of those poor Orphan children on that day?

I wish and pray to God that Vijay be blessed with a healthy, happy , prosperous life and a successful career.

IS NOKIA 5800 XPRESS EDITION WORTH BUYING?

Nokia 5800 is the latest touch screen version phone. It entered into the market with an unusual hype and the music composing by A.R. Rahman for the brand added some more flavours to the hype. But is it really worth buying the phone? The initial Launch price of the mobile was priced at Rs.25000(INR) and the advance booking for the phone was started during the New year-2009. Roughly some 2 weeks after its launch, the mobile price have come down to Rs.20,500(INR) on January 14-2009 and that too with a Theft- Insurance offer. I was much more surprised when the mobile rate is cut down to Rs.19,199(INR) today. The theft free Insurance offer for the mobile still remains applicable even when the prices have been Cut down.
This is for the first time I am witnessing a drastic price cut in such a short span of time for a Mobile phone. This arises a doubt in me whether this particular mobile set is worth buying or not? Although the appearance of this mobile is simply awesome but one cannot conclude about a mobile with its appearance alone. To know about the exact worth of Nokia- 5800 Xpress edition its better we wait for 2 Months inorder to receive the inputs from the current users of this mobile.
