CLINICAL INDIA DISPATCHES AUSTRALIA TO THE JAWS OF DEFEAT

India beat Australia by a whooping 5 wickets victory at MCG in a low scoring Match. Its their first Win against Australia at MCG after a long gap of 22 years. Australia, after winning the toss elected to Bat First. But everything went in INDIA's way. Australia had its Bad luck immediately after the match had started when Gilchrist was wrongly adjudged as LBW for 0.

After some Blitzkrieg by HAYDEN off the Young ISHANT SHARMA in the 4th over for 18runs, nothing went correct for the Aussies. A resurgent Ishanth Sharma in his next spell accounted for the all set Batsman HAYDEN & the dangerous Ricky Ponting. Australia's scorecard read as 52 for 3 after 8 overs and they were desperately in want of a Big Partnership. On the other hand, India managed to get Wickets in regular intervals. Penetrating Bowling and Tigrish fielding of the Young Indian side reduced Australia to 92 for 6 after 26 overs. A recovery partnership between LEE & HUSSEY made Australia look like to float past the 200 runs mark befor Pathan had accounted for LEE. Hussey unbeaten on 65 ran out of partners as the Australian innings collapsed for 159 all out in 43.1overs.

Indian innings started off with a Cheeky Boundary from Sehwag off Brett Lee. Australia got an early break through when Bracken trapped Sehwag infornt of the wicket. Pathan came in as a surprise one down batsman to add a vital 36 runs parnership with Sachin Tendulkar. The little master made some excellent strokes off Lee's delivery on his way to a match saving 44. Bad luck continued to torment the Aussies when the Umpire Koertzen ruled out the slimmest edge of Sachin Tendulkar off Stuart Clark's delivery caught by the keeper GILCHRIST.

When India were going good at 89 for 2, suddenly a collapse bating triggered in the Indian line-up when Brett Lee castled Gambhir with a short-ball. India suddenly were reeling at 102 for 5. India's youngest batting star Rohit sharma and captain M.S.Dhoni made sure that INDIA reached home safely after an unbroken 58 Runs partnership between them. Ishant Sharma deservedly received the man of the match award for his carrier best of 4 wickets for 38 runs to set up an emphatic Indian Victory at MCG after 22 years..
