BILLION DOLLAR BABY CALLED 'INDIAN PREMEIR LEAGUE (IPL)'

IPL is easily one of the most popular and biggest events that India has ever seen. IPL is the brain child of BCCI Vice President Mr.Lalit Modi who actually had floated this idea in 1996. But it moved into reality only when the ZEE group launched a rival INDIAN CRICKET LEAGUE(ICL) on April 2007.

BIG BLOW FOR PERVEZ MUSHARRAF

Its a big blow for PML-Q, an ally of Musharraf as the opposition PPP and PML-N emerged as the largest parties in the Parliamentary elections thus making a brighter chances of the formation of a Coalition Government challenging the Eight-Year rule of the former General and Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf.

Out of the 269 National Assembly Seats, results are out for 248 of them with PPP leads by bagging 85 seats and PLM-N at the second position with 65 seats. The Ruling PML-Q could secure only 37 seats and MQM had received 19 seats folowwed by ANP-10 seats, PPP(S)-1 seat and others-31 seats. Polling was not held in the 3 constituencies while the Election Commission suspended results for two.

The PML-Q saw many of its big names including former premier Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, former Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and former foreign minister Khurshid M Kasuri - being trounced by their PPP and PML-N opponents.

Due to Security Concerns, the Voters turn out was very low as many preferred to stay inside their homes. Poll observers said the elections were largely Free and Fair. "They were by and large free, fair and transparent, to my absolute surprise. This was possibly the most transparent election since 1970 though the turnout was comparatively low due to security reasons," said Mariam Qazi, spokesperson for the Centre for Media and Democracy

Konami has revealed that Metal Gear Solid collection would be available in the market soon for just $29.99.
The collection would contain Metal Gear Solid for the PSone, MGS 2: Sons of Liberty and MGS 3: Snake Eater for the PS2. But that’s where the bad news begins; this collection will not be available in India as there is much less market for this game here. South Africa beat WestIndies by a Huge margin of 8 wickets(D/L Method) to clinch the series 5-0. Veteran Paceman SHAUN POLLOCK got a dream Farewell as his fellow team-mate H.Gibbs blasted a quick fire century( 102 off 84 deliveries) and Kallis made an unbeaten 74. The cast of the movie ‘The Other End of the Line’ includes Jesse Metcalfe, Shriya, Sara Foster and Anupam Kher. The movie is a joint venture of Adlabs and MGM. Ashok Amritraj IS THE Co-Producer and the movie is directed by James Dodson. The movie story deals with an Indian call-center employee who falls in love with a guy in SanFrancisco through her telephone conversations with him. She then travels to the country to meet him. Shriya says she just loved the storyline and her role. "It is a great project. All my co-stars are very encouraging and supportive. I work in a different system with all things planned," says Shriya.

But how did Shriya get this role? It was the RAJNIKANTH’s starrer Super Hit movie SIVAJI, that has bagged her the role. Shooting began in October 2007 and the Shooting team has completed their schedules Delhi, Mumbai and Singapore. Next, the crew proceeds to New York. On Sunday, Jaya Bachchan’s Samajwadi Party workers and Raj Thackeray’s MAHARASHTRA NAVNIRMAN SENA(MNS) clashed as Raj Thackeray made some controversial remarks against actor Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and North Indians.
Dadar became the epicenter of the riot when MNS and Samajwadi Party supporters activists indulged in Clashes and stone-pelting. Five cars were damaged during the clashes. It took place just outside the Venue for a rally to be organized by UNPA leader Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Jaya Bachchan, Amitabh’s wife and Samajwadi Party MP said the intention of starting a school, provided the MNS leader donated them the Land. Raj Thackeray accused Amitabh that he was more affiliated towards the North Indians who had helped them to reach his StarDom.
"I heard that Raj Thackeray owns huge properties in Maharashtra, in Mumbai - Kohinoor Mills. If he is willing to donate land, we can start a school in the name of Aishwarya here," said Ms.Bachchan. She also said she was unaware who Raj Thackeray was. "Bal Thackeray (Shiv Sena chief) is like a father to me and Uddhav (Sena executive president) is his son. I don't know any other Thackeray," the actress turned politician remarked.
Shiv Sena activists staged a demonstration in Delhi to protest Raj Thackeray's remarks. The clash between SP and MNS activists in Mumbai took place before the start of the rally at Shivaji Park organized by the UNPA leaders.
Some members of the clashing groups were held and security central Mumbai were beefed up, police said. The activists of both the groups gathered outside the Plaza Cinema in Dadar and later resorted to stone pelting.
The clash started after MNS workers allegedly attacked a bus carrying SP workers near Kherwadi in suburban Bandra. The police used batons to bring the situation under control and also detained seven MNS workers. After the clashes, MNS spokesperson Shishir Shinde said, "We were provoked to act the way we have"."When a rally is being organised, the party needs to make sure there are no obstructions for the traffic and pedestrians," he said."When in Maharashtra, they must act like Maharashtrians. They (referring to SP) must adopt our way like saying Mumbai and not Bambai," added Shinde.

INDIA - MEN IN BLUE BEATEN BLACK AND BLUE

It could be best described as the catastrophic performance by India ever in twenty-twenty history and I bet this match will haunt the Indian side for many days to come.. Aussies have again proved their Home ground dominance by thrashing India despite the fact that there was no assistance from the pitch. Indian batsman just threw their wickets against the bowling attack of the Aussies, clearly showed the unprofessional performance of the Young players in the INDIAN side.

Without the senior players like Sachin, Sourav, Dravid, Lakshman and Kumble, India looked like a MINNOWs team packed with a bunch of Rookie Players. Further, the absence of Yuvraj Singh rubbed salt in the wounds.
India being bowled out for a humble 74, could do nothing but to watch the Australians take their revenge on them. Their Batting made a real mockery of the Indian bowling attack.

Great hopes on Virender Sehwag broke down when he became the first victim of a brilliant fielding made by Clarke and dark clouds began to loom over Indians when they lost their 2nd wicket -Gautam Gambir, when he fell cheaply for 9. The wickets fell in a quick succession and at no point were INDIA in the game. Dhoni yet again failed to perform. Pathan showed some resistance with a sensible knock of 26 runs. It looked like he was fighting for a dying cause before he too nicked one to Gilchrist and India were all out for 74 Runs in just 17.3 overs. (India really missed the in-form sachin tendulkar though I wouldn’t know how much of a difference he would have made).

We witnessed some tremendous fielding from the Aussies and full credit to them. The all time 20-20 match saviours Robin Uthappa and Rohit Sharma too couldn't contribute to their side. Dinesh Karthik has failed yet again. In short, the Indian batting was Pathetic and we were bowled out for a mere 74 in just 17.3 overs.

Australia got off to a flyer as Adam Gilchrist (25) and Michael Clarke (31 not out) made no mistake in dispatching the Indian bowling right from the first over. They showed no mercy and even though the required run rate was low they were determined to dominate the Indians. Clarke batted well and deservingly was awarded the Man of the Match.
