Dharpa is building an Unmanned UAV capable of being airborne for 5 years! (wow!that’s a lot of time). During those 5 years the aircraft is expected to perform wide range of operations relating to intelligence,surveillance,communication, reconnaissance etc.in short its expected to behave like a geostationary satellite which does not obey orbital mechanics.
But there are lot of obstacles that have to be crossed before achieving this goal and that is the aircraft must be able to carry a high payload which should be capable withstanding high velocity winds.
